For many years I struggled to make a few dollars from the deals I did. One of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made was I thought I could learn how to be a real estate investor by going to my local real estate club. I tried to get my real estate investing education on the cheap and not pay for any quality training and it didn’t take long for me to realize that I never got enough information from those meetings to be able to structure and close the deal with what I had learned. I needed to be able to structure and close the deals I looked at intelligently if I wanted to make money, that I needed desperately.
One important lesson I learned was, if you do what everyone else in your marketplace does, guess what, you are going to make about as much money as everyone else in your marketplace is making, and that usually isn’t very much.
