Stop Thinking Small
One of my pet peeves is when people can’t pull themselves out of their own head to think big about their business. I came from a family of dairy farmers and we didn’t have a lot of money. But I developed a mentality, despite my surroundings in rural Michigan, of thinking bigger than the people around me.
People there didn’t believe in anything that was outside the “norm”: a 9-to-5 job, usually in a factory. They were suspicious of the wealthy because they believed the only way they could make money was to rip off the little guy.
If this is how you feel, you need to take your brain and make a 180 degree pivot.
You need to change the thoughts of “I can’t afford it” to “How CAN I afford it?”. This is moving from small to big thinking. These changes have helped me see all the opportunity around me when others couldn’t.
A wise man once said, “If you think you’re happy, you are. If you think you’re unhappy, you are. Either way, you’re right.”
